What movers actually deal with in Cary

Long-distance leg loaded

Cary is a small North Carolina town with a tight historic core off US–11, river–side properties along the Crabtree Valley, and a stretch of newer subdivisions out toward I–75. Our local crew knows the access realities:

  • Historic district off US–11: Narrow drives, older porch frames, careful long–carry from the street. Marcus (our crew chief) walks the access before move day on any historic Cary job.
  • Crabtree Valley river properties: Long gravel drives, occasional flood–line considerations during the Mar–May watch season. We bring smaller trucks for tight river access.
  • New subdivisions (Cherokee Hills, Whitewater Cove): Standard suburban access, garage–to–garage straightforward jobs. Most of our 3–BR Cary moves run 5–7 hours.
  • School calendar: Cary families move heavy May–June and again Jul–Aug around the Wake County Schools calendar. Book 3–4 weeks ahead for those windows.

Typical cost bands for Cary moves

Our crew, our trucks

  • Owner or Tanesha picks up the phone — no call center
  • Written flat-rate quote = exactly what you pay at delivery
  • Same crew loads and unloads, every move
  • $1M cargo coverage, COI same-day for buildings
  • Claims handled in-house — Brandon signs off personally

× Broker chain

  • Call center routes you, your number gets sold
  • Quote rebilled at delivery for “extras”
  • Different unknown carrier per trip
  • Generic certificate, COI is a fight
  • “Not our crew” runaround on damage claims
  • Studio / 1–BR: $400–$600 (local, 2–man crew, 2–3 hours)
  • 2–BR: $600–$900 (local, 3–man crew, 4–5 hours)
  • 3–BR house: $900–$1,500 (local, 3–man crew, 5–7 hours)
  • 4–BR + outbuildings: $1,300–$2,100 (3–4 man crew, full day)
  • Cary to Raleigh (or vice versa): 12–15 miles each way, adds ~$150–$300 over a pure local rate

David, T and Jaheim were wonderful and thorough. I have never had such a stress free packing experience. They do your company proud. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone I know who is moving and will use them again myself.

Absolutely amazing experience. I was so stressed about my move. I had no reason to be; the team at Peachtree Movers did such a good job. They paid attention to the small details that meant so much! Highly recommend!

I booked the company for same-day Junk removal in downtown Raleigh. Jake and Elliot were great, super helpful and fast. Overall great experience — one word of warning is that while the company does its best to be same-day, unless you’re the first one on the docket, expect some delays. My original estimated start time was 9-11am, but we got started around 12:30pm.

Area FAQs

Common questions about moving in Cary

How far is Cary from Raleigh?
About 12 miles south on US-11. Our crew treats it as a local in-county move — same flat-rate pricing as Raleigh proper.
Do you serve the Old Fort Cass area?
Yes. We know the gravel driveways and low oak canopy on that side of Cary. Our crew brings a 26-ft straight truck instead of a tractor.
What does a Cary move cost?
A typical 3-BR Cary move runs $900–$1,500 flat-rate depending on volume, access, and date. Gravel-driveway or river-lot properties may quote toward the higher end due to longer carries. We quote in writing before you commit.
